So our plan of doing two posts a week obviously didn’t happen. Josh’s daily schedule starts at 7am and doesn’t end most evenings until 9pm or so. We have so many things we want to write about but will have to do so once the apprenticeship is over on August 2. There are just so many things to do and people to meet that are here for a short time that we just can’t manage to get it all done.
There are a few things we want to help advertise and we think are great ways for others like yourselves to visit The Farm or learn about permaculture.
First, the next apprenticeships will be starting the week of August 31. There will be one more orientation after that which is the week of September 28. For more information please visit http://www.thefarm.org/etc/appfaq or email Albert at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The other thing I would like to share is a way for you and your family to check out The Farm and do it in a way that you have a tour guide, which is THE Douglas Stevenson, and can really check out The Farm in just a few days. This is compared to paying for a tour and still not getting to see everything or really get to experience The Farm. We have been facilitating the one going on this week since it has been at the Eco-Hostel where we live and it seems to be a great thing to do. For more information about this go to http://thefarmcommunity.com/Farm_Experience. The next one, and it happens to be the last one for this year, is September 19-21.
The calendar for 2014 can be found on the right side of the page when you visit http://www.thefarmcommunity.com.
I will write again soon. Please note that the Eco-Hostel is open for guests to stay there in the month of August even if the website states otherwise. Seems a few things need to be updated once the Apprenticeship is over. 🙂 If you have any questions please contact us!
Side note: Journey turns 7 months tomorrow and our 11 year wedding anniversary is Sunday!
